Privacy Policy

EDB values the privacy and security of the personal information of its clients, partners and employees. For this reason, we present this Privacy Policy, which details, in a clear and transparent manner, how personal data is handled in compliance with the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law).

EUROMETALS DO BRASIL IMPORTAÇÃO E EXPORTAÇÃO LTDA (EDB), registered with the CNPJ under No. 12.419.209/0001-73, headquartered in Piracicaba, State of São Paulo, at Rua Miguel de Cillo, nº 685, Bairro Santa Terezinha, CEP 13.412-212, founded on August 10, 2010, recognizes the importance of exposing how it processes personal data provided by the client (DATA SUBJECT) when using its services. This Notice on Privacy and the Processing of Personal Data (“Privacy Notice”) aims to present, in a simple, transparent and objective manner, what personal data is collected and how it is processed in all of EDB’s activities, according to the information made available on the website www.eurometalsdobrasil.com.br and on all of its social networks.

Nature of the personal data processed

Through the CONTROLLER’s of personal data (Corporate Clients, Partners). To a lesser extent and directly by the DATA SUBJECT (Employees, Individual Customers, Partners).

Main purposes for processing personal data at the EDB

To use personal data forwarded by the CONTROLLER’s or by the HOLDER him/herself in order to meet a commercial contact need, such as purchases, sales, provision of services among others that the company provides or that are provided, issue of invoices and all others arising from his/her professional activity.

What personal data is collected for at the EDB

Use personal data to enter into, respond to or maintain contact before, during or after a business relationship with the HOLDER, in their capacity as CONTROLLER, with a view to fulfilling the contract.

How the EDB protects and stores personal data:

  1. EDB adopts appropriate technical and administrative measures to ensure the protection of personal data. As a standard, no original physical documents are processed, only copies, which are mostly digital or digitized. Access to these documents is strictly limited to authorized individuals and employees.
  2. All digital documents and personal data of EDB are primarily stored on a restricted server. The few physical media that still contain personal data are permanently subjected to appropriate security measures.
  3. EDB does not perform automated processing of personal data.

Your rights

  1. Confirm that the EDB processes your personal data;
  2. Access and correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated information;
  3. Request anonymization, making the data unidentifiable to the DATA SUBJECT;
  4. Block or delete information that is deemed unnecessary, excessive or processed in breach of the law;
  5. Request data portability to another service or product provider, respecting commercial and industrial secrets;
  6. Request the deletion of data processed on the basis of consent, with the exceptions provided for by law;
  7. Obtain information on who the data is shared with;
  8. Understand the consequences of denying consent to data processing;
  9. Revoke previously granted consent.

Personal data

Any information relating to a natural person, directly or indirectly, identified or identifiable.

Sensitive personal data

Special category of information related to racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political opinions, trade union membership or membership of religious, philosophical or political organizations, as well as health, sex life, genetic or biometric data.

Holder

Natural person to whom the personal data refers, such as former, present or potential customers of the CONTROLLER’s who share data with the EDB, employees, contractors, partners and third parties.

Treatment

Any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction (LGPD, art. 5, X).

Legal basis

Existing basis in the law that allows the agent to process personal data (LGPD, art. 7); the main legal basis is the DATA SUBJECT’s consent, which can be revoked at any time, provided there are no other legal exceptions that allow the CONTROLLER to continue processing personal data, even without the DATA SUBJECT’s consent. It is defined by the CONTROLLER according to the characteristics of the business, product or service provided.

In charge

The mediator is a person appointed by the CONTROLLER or OPERATOR to act as a communication channel between the CONTROLLER, the DATA SUBJECT’s, and the ANPD (Brazilian National Data Protection Authority), in accordance with the LGPD (arts. 5, VIII, and 41).

Necessary cookies (Concept)

This information is used for the website or application to perform basic functions and operate correctly. Treatment Agents

They are responsible for the custody of personal data and must process it in accordance with legal provisions and the principles of the LGPD, above all, in good faith and with transparency. They are the CONTROLLER’s and the OPERATOR’s.

Controller

Processing agent, the party that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data. In the case of contracting EDB services, the CONTROLLER is the CONTRACTING PARTY (LGPD, art. 5, VI and IX).

Operator

Processing agent, party that processes personal data in accordance with the CONTROLLER’s instructions. In the case of the EDB (CONTRACTOR), this is the OPERATOR (LGPD, art. 5, VII and IX).

Anonymization

Process by which data loses the possibility of direct or indirect association with an individual, taking into account reasonable technical means available at the time of processing.

EDB and Cookies

Cookies are files or information that can be stored on your devices when you visit websites or use online services. Information retention time cookies

These cookies help us to understand how visitors interact with EDB pages, providing information on the areas visited, the time spent on the site and varying lengths of time until the page is closed, the computer or if it persists to the extent necessary, and are not stored for any purpose other than better navigation and experience on the site or on social networks.

Session or temporary cookies

The EDB does not sell personal information to third parties. However, it may share it with OPERATOR’s, who will follow the purposes established by the CONTROLLER, such as:

  1. With partner companies and suppliers, in the development of Services aimed at the DATA SUBJECT or the CONTROLLER;
  2. With authorities, government entities or other third parties, for the protection of the EDB’s interests in any type of conflict, including lawsuits and administrative proceedings;
  3. In the event of transactions and corporate changes involving the EDB, in which case the transfer of information will be necessary for the continuity of services;
  4. By court order or at the request of administrative authorities that have the legal power to request it.

Although the EDB adopts the best possible structure to preserve the privacy and protect the personal data of HOLDERS, there is no technical possibility of offering absolute security, and as a result there is no possibility of a full guarantee of personal data. EDB therefore advises HOLDERS to make every effort to implement personal security and privacy measures, constantly learning and adopting security resources and attitudes, especially in the digital environment.

Lifecycle of Collected Information

Personal data processed by the EDB will be automatically deleted when they are no longer useful for the purposes for which they were collected, or when the HOLDER requests their deletion, unless there is a legal basis for the EDB to keep such personal data in its custody.
